How it works

Each year American Schools apply for E-Rate funding under the Universal Service funding mechanism for discounts on Telecommunications, Internet Access, Internal Connections and Internal connections Maintenance.

Each year schools apply using the participation figures from the National School Lunch Program. While this is accurate for Elementary and Jr. High schools; Sr. High Schools suffer a loss in funding because of a significant drop off in participation in the NSLP at the Sr. High Level. This costly drop off is caused by some of the following factors:

• Open campus at lunch

• Socioeconomic stigma

• Failure to eat lunch at all

• Partial day schedules

• Slightly different eligibility factors

School Survey Solutions helps High Schools determine an accurate discount rate to make their E-Rate application. By using a USAC approved alternate discount mechanism; high schools can increase their funding.

An increase of one step on the E-Rate discount matrix can result in a dramatic funding increase. Sometimes an increase can mean the difference in getting funded for Priority two services vs. getting nothing..
School Survey Solutions can make an accurate assessment of your schools
discount situation with the current NSLP participation rates of each High School and its respective feeder schools down to the kindergarten level.
School Survey Solutions will analyze this data, free of charge, and suggest
which schools could increase funding with this strategy. Our goal is to increase funding for schools where we can, and don’t claim that our process works in every situation. However, we have proven that it works in several situations.

Several schools have made several hundred thousands of dollars from taking advantage of this service. Contact us for more information.
